Use our sequencing capacity for your ready to load libraries
CeGaT offers sequencing of custom-made libraries compatible with Illumina or PacBio systems. We make use of the latest sequencing technologies. Depending on your needs, samples will be sequenced either on Illumina short-read platforms (MiSeq, NovaSeq 6000) or the PacBio Sequel IIe long-read system.
Flexible sequencing options are available, specifically tailored for your project. Please refer to our technical information for further details (see below).
Choosing CeGaT for your project, you will benefit from our broad experience in sequencing as well as our high quality standards, based on our German DAkkS ISO 15189 and American CAP/CLIA accreditation.
Turnaround time
Sequencing data are delivered within 5 – 10 working days.
A fast track option is available upon request.
Delivery
Your sequencing data will be available for download from one of our servers.
Upon request, as well as for large sample batches, data can also be delivered via external hard drive, or uploaded to your own server.
Storage
The original samples will be stored at CeGaT for a period of 3 months after data delivery.
Data will be stored for 5 months on our system after data delivery.

Bioinformatics
Depending on the used sequencing platform the delivered data formats differ. For short-read sequencing projects you will either receive raw sequencing data (BCL files) or demultiplexed FASTQ files. If needed, adapter trimming can be performed. If sequencing projects are completed using PacBio’s system, you will get HiFi reads (FASTQ files).
Technical Information
At CeGaT, sequencing is performed using Illumina or Pacbio sequencing systems.
For sequencing projects on the Illumina platforms, we accept any compatible library. Illumina index sequencing primers, as well as custom primers may be used during the sequencing process at CeGaT.
If you have generated libraries with commercial library construction kits for PCR-based targeted sequencing using a unique molecular identifier (UMI), we can offer sequencing modes with customized sequencing parameters. The lengths of read 1 and read 2, as well as index read lengths can be adapted to your needs.
For conducting HiFi long-read sequencing projects we accept libraries generated using the SMRTbell prep kit 3.0*
