Total RNA Sequencing Service

By total RNA sequencing, all coding and non-coding RNA molecules can be detected. Ribosomal RNAs make up a large proportion of total RNA molecules. Some applications require their removal before sequencing. Thus, we offer ribosomal RNA depletion for many common organisms as an additional service.

Total RNA sequencing provides a number of advantages:

  • Appearance of transcripts can be accurately measured
  • Degraded/low quality samples can be analyzed

Total RNA sequencing generates a comprehensive collection of information on the RNAs within a studied organism or tissue over a wide dynamic range.

QC Standards

  • Sequencing quality standard – Q30 > 80 % (exceeding Illumina’s guarantee)
  • Standard of library preparation is the same as for diagnostic sample

Sample Requirements

  • Ultra-low input protocol option available, as low as 500 pg (high quality RNA) / 10 ng (FFPE derived RNA) regular input
  • ≥ 500 ng with a concentration of ≥ 20 ng/μL
  • Minimal Sample Volume: 20 μL
  • RNA Quality: RIN > 3
