Prof. Dr. Peter Freisinger, MD is the Physician-in-Chief of Pediatric Medicine in Reutlingen, Germany. He is specialized in metabolic and mitochondrial disorders, skeletal dysplasias, and neurodevelopmental diseases. Furthermore, he has a focus on perinatal medicine in neonatology. Prof. Freisinger will consult CeGaT GmbH with respect to metabolic and mitochondrial diagnostics.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Gasser, MD is Director of the Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research in Tuebingen, Germany, Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Clinical Director of the Department of Neurology at the University Clinic, Tuebingen, Germany. As president of the German Society of Neurogenetics and coordinator of the competence center for Parkinson’s disease in Germany and coordinator of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases in Tuebingen, Germany, Prof. Gasser belongs to the most acknowledged neurogeneticists worldwide.
Prof. Dr. Daniel H. Huson is Professor of Algorithms in Bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen and a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore. He focuses on “Phylogenetic trees and networks”, “Metagenomics analysis”, “Resequencing and genome analysis”, and “Evolution and Ecology”. He has supported CeGaT since its foundation in the area of bioinformatics.
Prof. Dr. Sven Perner, MD is Professor and Chairman of the Pathology Network of the University Hospital of Lübeck and Leibniz Research Center Borstel. Prof. Perner is focusing on the translational research necessary to identify biomarkers in solid tumors, primarily cancers of the prostate and lung. Prof. Perner is collaborating with CeGaT on tumor genetic projects.
Prof. Dr. Bernd Wissinger is Professor for Molecular Genetics of Sensory Systems and Head of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at the Institute of Ophthalmic Research, University Clinics Tübingen. Prof. Wissinger is an internationally recognized expert in the field of the genetics of inherited retinal disorders and optic atrophies and coordinator of the RD-CURE consortium for the development of gene therapy applications to treat achromatopsia and retinitis pigmentosa. He has advised CeGaT since March 2014 especially in the field of eye diseases.
